We are happy to announce that your Carnegie Public Library will be expanding current services and hours as part of a phased re-opening plan starting on Tuesday, May 26th. Curbside pick-up hours will now be available Monday-Friday 9am-6pm & Saturday 9am-1pm. In addition, you can call or email in advance to make an appointment to access our patron computers, or to receive help with faxing and copying needs. Computers have been temporarily relocated to the library meeting room (next door to media center) in order to allow patrons to maintain social distance recommendations. We are approaching this expansion of service cautiously and with care for our community and staff using guidelines from the Arkansas Department of Health, Centers for Disease Control and the Arkansas State Library, so some restrictions will apply.
While our buildings remain closed for browsing and checking out materials, we are still working hard to provide patrons with the library items they need! Patrons can browse our online catalog or look at some of our curated lists for ideas on what to check out next. Requests for items can be made by phone, email, or online with your library card number.
NO CONTACT CURBSIDE PICK-UP
Once your requested items become available, we will make arrangements with you to pick them up through our no contact curbside service. We are placing everyone’s pick up in a bag that is labeled with the patron’s initials and an assigned bag number. These are then set outside on tables in front of the Media Center window where they can be monitored by staff and can be picked up by the patron any time during Library hours.
• Appointments to use a library computer can be made for 10:00AM, 1:00PM or 3:00PM Monday – Friday and 10:00AM on Saturdays.
• Appointment times are scheduled to allow staff to disinfect the computers between uses. We will hold a scheduled appointment for 15 minutes, after which you will need to re-schedule for a different time.
• All patrons over ten years of age must wear a face covering and practice social distancing the entire time they are inside the meeting room using the computer.
• Patrons entering the building to use the computer are asked to provide their name and phone number for the possible purpose of contact tracing. These logs will be shredded after two weeks.
Faxing, scanning and copying services remain available by appointment. Please call (479) 253 – 8754 to make arrangements.
Patrons are invited to take part in one of virtual or outdoor programs! You can see our schedule of events HERE.
